Delivering Results

Enterprise is the tool. Progress is the outcome.

Helping people recognise what is possible

At Business Unboxed, we work with people who may have ideas, skills and ambitions but do not always have the confidence, opportunities or practical support needed to move forward.

Some of the people we support go on to start businesses or generate their first income. Others progress into employment, education, volunteering or community leadership. For some, the most important first step is rebuilding confidence, recognising their strengths and beginning to believe that change is possible.

Our programmes combine enterprise, employability, creativity and person-centred support. We meet people where they are, help them identify the right next step and provide the practical tools, encouragement and accountability needed to make progress.

"People do not arrive with uniform circumstances or a single definition of success, and the right outcome may be self-employment, employment, qualifications or wider personal progression."

Employability Training

How we create impact

Confidence before compliance

People are more likely to engage with business planning, employment preparation or digital learning when they feel safe, welcomed and capable of succeeding.

Learning through doing

Participants do not only discuss ideas. They create pricing structures, marketing materials, booking systems, presentations, videos, action plans and practical solutions.

Enterprise as a route to wider progression

Enterprise develops communication, creativity, confidence, teamwork, financial understanding and problem-solving skills, whether or not someone ultimately becomes self-employed.

Support shaped around the individual

We do not assume that everyone should reach the same destination. Progress might mean earning a first income, securing employment, beginning a qualification, volunteering, forming a community organisation or developing the confidence to take the next step.

This is strongly evidenced in the contrast between the individual stories in your social outcomes report: one person established a community organisation, while another recognised that employment and qualifications were the right immediate foundation for her longer-term enterprise idea.

Enterprise programme for aspiring beauty professionals

Case Study: From skills to customers

A four-day enterprise programme for aspiring beauty professionals

Five participants completed an intensive programme designed to turn existing beauty skills into realistic income opportunities.

During the programme, participants developed services, prices, branding, marketing content, social media pages, booking systems and 30-day action plans. Two participants began securing customers before the programme had finished, achieving 13 bookings between them.

Confidence also rose significantly. One participant reported moving from 2 out of 10 to 10 out of 10, while another moved from 4 to 8 despite experiencing anxiety, dyslexia and autism.

Suggested outcomes displayed on the card:

  • Five participants completed
  • Five business concepts developed
  • 13 early customer bookings
  • 100% retention of attendees
