Unboxing Business for the Voluntary & Charitable Sector
Future-proof your Non-Profit
Social Enterprises, Charities, and Voluntary Sector Organisations play a vital and significant role in our society, offering services and assistance to those most in need within our communities.
Research such as that by Herefordshire County Council, signals that the VCSE Sector is encountering a difficult financial landscape with core funding in particular being more fragmented and challenging to secure.
Business Unboxed is on a mission to support VCSEs to build sustainable sources of earned income.

Too many funding 'eggs' in one basket?
To address current funding challenges, VCSE organisations can seek to diversify their income streams through the creation of micro- and small-businesses that are tailored to, and in tune with their mission and capabilities.
At Business Unboxed, our specialism is in supporting Start-ups and Small Businesses to grow and deliver. We understand what it takes to develop an idea, create a viable business plan and to put those plans into action. We can provide support, training and additional expertise where needed to fill gaps and enhance sustainability.
A great first step is to explore opportunities that exist for your organisation and get an assessment of your organisations readiness to start a business venture.
Here's how we can help:
Our Assessment Service will help you to assess your goals, opportunities and readiness to diversify your income streams through the creation of business ventures aligned to your organisational goals.
Three Steps to Success:
- Initial Assessment Questionnaire
- Assessment Interview
- Report and Action Plan
"..most of the VCSE sector’s income comes from its amazing capability to raise donations from the public, win grants from government bodies and do trade with the public, government and businesses through contracts for services or sale of products that bring social value. "
